The French Riviera is certainly one of the best European Yachting locations, with a whole series of extremely glamorous locations for you to arrive in within a relatively short period of time.
There are some extremely luxurious locations which you can factor in to your adventure. Here we will look at some of the most famous locations and also when to visit.
First lets start towards the Italian border with Monaco, which hosts some extremely stunning coast line. The best time of year to arrive is just in time for the Monaco Grand Prix, which takes place in May. However, then as you can imagine the harbour space is at a premium. This is certainly a location to be seen, with lots of extremely wealthy individuals choosing to base themselves here for taxation reasons!

Further along the coast, and we find ourselves in Nice, Antibes, Cannes, and latterly St Tropez.
These locations all make up some of the most exclusive in the world, and these are certainly places to be seen.
Nice as you would expect with a relatively large city has a lot going on! There is a carnival in February and a Jazz Festival in July. Also throughout May there is an event known as “Le Fete De Mai”, which is a series of live music performances throughout May.
Antibes has a world famous Jazz festival which takes place in July, so this is definitely worth visiting at this time, although you will need to make your plans in advance as the town gets extremely busy at this time of year.. In addition there is a Yacht race which takes place in June for five days, so this is again a good time to visit. In addition there are firework festivals throughout the year throughout July and August, and this is an occasion not to be missed.
Charter a Yacht in France
The Cannes Film Festival takes place in May, so this is certainly a good time to drop in, and if you are lucky you may be able to take in a film premier or two!
There are a huge number of celebrities which are in town at this time of year, so it can be great time to do some people spotting. The Cannes harbour is once again a location for a collection of serious yachts, combining sailing yachts, motor yachts, and super yachts. In addition Cannes holds a firework festival for several days in July, so this can be a good time to visit. For those who enjoy classical music, the “Nuits Musicales du Suquet” provides the perfect opportunity to listen to soothing classical songs from a variety of performers.
St Tropez is probably one of the most famous locations along the Riviera, and there is a constant stream of super yachts coming into the world famous harbour. Probably the best time to visit is for the “Fetes des Vendanges”, which celebrates the grape harvest and is followed by a sailing regatta at the beginning of October. The combination of beautiful beaches and stunning scenery makes St Tropez a must visit location.
